Wako Works of Art is pleased to announce a new exhibition Affinity by Wolfgang Tillmans. This is his fifth solo exhibition at the gallery since 2008.

This exhibition, showing 25 works, departs from credited approach from the new creation of Silver and Neue Welt series then incorporates with an exploration of extended visual presentation.

Amongst the exhibited embraces diverse theme and size with dynamic use of colour, demonstrating the expansion of photographic study by recent adaption of inkjet printing, the most recent mural installation Untitled(2014) act pivotal in the exhibition. Centrally situated, spanning over 2 meters across cornering walls comprised of constellation of pictures in varying sizes pasted under the artist’s direction in situ, representing accumulation of parallel layering experience.

The corners of the largest component softly preened with white clips and pins instead of hard framings. The image hence appears “hanged”; slightly off the wall, which enables airy visual gesture with emphasis on texture of the paper. This redefinition of display is also applied on the featured titled work of Affinity(2009). The nuanced softness transforms the fixture from physical to metaphysical. Simultaneously, connotation of dimensional shift becomes accessible as a response to the given space through Tillmans`s over 20 years of pursuit for conceptual quest.

Wako Works of Art has been presenting the foremost creations by the artist for the past 15 years.

In conjunction with the exhibition, his latest fully illustrated “Walfgang Tillmans Wako Book 5” will be published (Limited copies1500).
